The Nursery~where babies become babies...Forever!
Welcome to my little "heaven on earth"
What you see at the left is myself surrounded by my collection as well as dolls that I have made. I love this room! It houses my personal collection and inspires me as I create beautiful reborn babies for others to love.
I've got all the necessary items in this room for both my collection and my artwork.
This room is filtered with natural light. I have my painting table placed directly in front of a very large picture window. It provides excellent light for me year round to meticulously paint each reborn that finds it's way to that table. The table is the full length of the window allowing me plenty of room and light. A large storage rack sets to the left of the table housing my kits and many supplies.
A real baby changing table is the perfect place to dress each little one, with a full sized closet and chest of drawers close by for outfit selection.
In this room, perfection and quality reign. Since I studied this art for nearly 3 years before I ever attempted creating a reborn, I had a good education on what types of supplies to purchase.
These are the quality supplies that I use:
Beautiful artist quality kits~preferably German made
Doe Suede or German made flannel bodies
German glass, high quality acrylic or soft silicone eyes
My own hand-processed Angora mohair
Genesis Heat Set Paints, varnishes and glosses
Little Dreams Collection (LDC) air dry paints
Top quality glues and glosses
Baby Fat inserts
Non-corrosive Baby Fat pellets
Plastic pellets
Granulated glass beads
Finest coated BB pellets for weight
Non-corrosive vinyl gloves for concealing beads/pellets in the body
Premium fiber fill/faux fleece
Baby scents and powders that will not harm the vinyl or cloth of the doll
Finest quality tools and accessories used in the "birth" of the reborn doll
Powerful magnets
Brand new clothing, shoes, blankets, pacifiers, accessories and toys
My techniques for creating the reborn doll are current/up to date and I am constantly learning and trying new things to reach the ultimate in realism.
I am extremely meticulous with each step of the reborn process from start to finish. As a reborn doll collector myself, I only want to produce top quality dolls that I would be proud to own.
My workmanship is guaranteed for the life of the doll under normal collectors use.
Enjoy the slide show below of random shots of the nursery over the years as it's changed and also of this artist at work, who has also changed over the years! And of some of my past students who have joined me for one-on-one classes. Oh what a happy place the nursery is!
